Nursing Training Later in Life?

I've recently decided to become a Nurse, and would like to go to community college to earn my degree/certification in college in California (I thought I would start at the LVN level). My problem is that I don't want to take Student Loans, and am afraid that I will not be able to make a living while going to school. Any ideas on how I could do that?

By the way, I am 38 years old.

Check with government grant programs...they used to be Pell Grants. Now I think they are called Federal Student Aid or something like that.

Make sure you get free applications...some places charge for the "free ones".
