College Decision?

I really want to go to college to become a Medical Secretary... but it seems like there isn't a lot of money in that... so I want a job that has a pretty good pay rate but i definately want to work in an office of some sort. I was thinking about Nursing too but I don't know if i can poke people with needles and stuff.. it makes me nervous thinking about it. .. anybody have any suggestions of any careers or tips about Nursing or anything ?

I say go with it. If you really love your job the money will come. If you're going into a secretarial position I suggest taking some classes that will teach you how to manipulate spreadsheets and databases because companies use these frequently. Medical records is a growing field and you should be able to find something easily.

do something you fell passionate about..I've changed my major 5 times before coming to the decision of being a dental hygienist and the pay as i reseached it is good so do something you feel good at and you can be financially stable in the future

get a degree in accounting

I am a nurse and I have worked in many different areas........ICU, Hospice, Home Care and I have been in the insurance industry for many years. I am a Utilization Review Manager and do medical review all over the US. One thing about being a nurse is, you can always get a job in any state at any time. It pays well and there are many different areas that you can work. Can't go wrong with being a nurse. I even volunteered for a surgical missionary trip to the Dominican Republic with a group of doctors and nurses from all over the US....it was great to give!

Money is important in having a comfortable life, but it is also good to be in a field that a person is interested in and enjoys. An idea is maybe shadow or interview a couple of individuals in the field before deciding on a particular job or major. Besides, the average American changes their career several times before retirement. Add on medical billing to your degree either as a certificate or an associates degree, and you become even more priceless to the medical office that hires you. There is a strong demand for medical billers.

What about Administrative Assistant, Computer Specialist or Nursing is a a very good paying job, all kinds of nurse positions, like nurse aides which don't make that much, but license practical nurses make tons of money and registered nurses make more then they do, u can work threw agency, doing home health care or u can work n a hosiptal/clinic where u have ur own office, it all depends on what u really wanna do, what will make u happy.... I am actually having the same problem as u, I can't make up my mind about college.......... go to a job website and look at the careers that interest u and see what today jobs offer in pay, thats one way to find out if that career is in demand, and also type in ur search box one by one each career and a list of things should come up, check these sites out
