How do college works??

i decided to just take nursing instead if going to medical school. i gave up my hope of becoming a doctor...

so now i wanna get my bachelor's degree in nursing(RN)

my problem is i dont know wer to start?

i mean im still in high school but i rily dont know what to do..

im sooo clueless bout collge..rily rily clueless...

calm down, u still have plenty of time to do research. regardless of ur major, u will have to take 42hrs. (each class is worth 3hrs) of basics.

after that u will declare your major. college is waaaay better than high school because basically u make your own schedule.

since u r still in highschool i would recomment for you to start applying for colleges and scholarships, file your fafsa because that will determined how much financial assistance u will receive.

if you are not sure what major to pursue or what college to attend, u should go to a community college where u can take your basics and later transfer those classes. (community colleges r cheaper than regular universities so thats an advantage)

once you are in college you will have an academic advisor. he/she will lead you through registration of required classes to obtain your degree.

do some research on schools that provide a b.s for nursing and try to apply to those schools.

first, you need to look at the financial side of things. do you want to go to private or public school? private schools carry a little bit more prestige than public schools, but if you are going to be an RN, the demand for nurses is so much that it really won't matter where you went to school. a good thing to look into is to see if any vocational schools near you offer a 2 year RN degree, which will license you as a nurse and allow you to work in a short amount of time. make sure you don't confuse 2 year RN with LPN (licensed practical nurse). after that, you are able to apply to any number of schools to finish out a bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) in a short time while you are still working. if you want to go to a 4 year school, the best way to go might be state school, where you can get a 4 year degree at a relatively inexpensive price. talk to your high school counselor, and he/she will be able to give you all this information and more on the many options you have. and do not, under any circumstances, freak out about college. you still have time now, and you'll even have time after you start college to change your mind on majors if you want, switch schools, and pretty much anything else. once you are accepted to a school, be sure to work closely with the financial aid office at the college to take advantage of federal assistance and scholarships. there are tons of them out there. also, see if you can start taking college classes while in high school, either through post-secondary enrollment, or college in the schools (CITS) programs. get as many college credits as you can before graduating high school, cause they're free, and they really help once you're in college. focus on biology and chemistry and anatomy classes in high school. they'll help you tons. and if you're wondering where i got all this info, it was personal experience. i started school for nursing last september.
