Accountant or nursing? |
hi guys...am going to college next week and i still can't decide what to major in......accounting or nursing...i really wanna make good money and have a job in the next years to come......which one do u think i should go for and why........ Two years ago I saw a lady nursing an accountant. She was actually nursing him! Or breast feeding or whatever you want to call it. I knew he was too old to be breast fed, and ever since then I've felt there is something suspicious about both professions. both are really good jobs that will earn you lots of money....so really I would just say go with what your more interested in Good News for you - You don't have to decide right now, talk to a counselor when you get to school, take classes in both and find out what you enjoy the most. Are you a numbers person or a people person. Either one will pay well and you will have flexability with both. Nursing would provide you with great financial stability. There's a shortage. However, the hours can be long, esp. if you work in a hospital. You have to be good with people and work well under pressure. If you're more of an introvert, I'd suggest accounting, which offers good money opportunities, too. money and security is in nursing but it's hard work and that takes a toll on your body so if you're not that healthy or have weight issues I'd suggest accounting Nursing is going to be best accounting is crazy nursing has very flexible hours and is fun and rewarding and is very stable If you prefer numbers then do the accounting and get your CPA. Am not telling you what you should do but am encouraging you to do nursing because the business sector is getting really crowded these days, however the medicine not really(probably same or 2% increase). If you try the nursing you'll be better of in the future trust me. i really don't think nursing makes that much.. long hours 4 sure.. i know a guy that went into accounting.. came out of college and right a way found a job as account at Ford or Chrylers .. but choose a field you think you would be happy in.. depends on whether you like blood or numbers....i am an accounting major and it is a lot of #s but the money is great Well, as an accountant, I will have to add that accountants also have to be good with people, have to work long hours, and make good money. if u want to make money and have intrest in science like anatomy and this kind of stuff thn go for nursing. i dont think accountants make more money thn nurses. moreover nusing is a wonderful field. i'd say go for nursing. we need more nurses. but dont forget about ur own intrest which is more important thn money. Taking a course depends on what you like to do and willing to do for a lot of yrs. to come. Which of the two courses you think you can be good at or can pass. Then know and weigh the pros and cons that comes with the jobs. Pick the one you enjoy or love to do, cause if you like what your doing you'll be good it. So there will be lot of possibilities for you to climb up and make more money. Go for nursing if you become nurse practioner you can easily make 100k go for nursing you have to go with what you are more interested in. when you start to take classes you should get a feel for what you would rather be doing. both have long hours so don't let anyone tell you that accountants don't work long hours. accounting is a very broad field. with an accounting degree, you can work in almost any business field out there. remember money doesn't buy happiness so make sure it is something you are going to enjoy. |
