How do i get into nursing, plz help?

hi im 19 years old and have no former qualifications but have just signed up for an access to nursing course that begins in a months time, my bestfriend who is 18 and has 4 gcse's at grades, D,D,F,C, also wants to be a nurse but has been reccomended doing a 2year course in health and social care, I really want to know why it is that we have both been reccomended a different course, is it because i dont have GCSE's and the college doesnt think im able to do what my bestfriend does?...or is the course i am doing harder?...could someone please let me know as i find this quite dis-heartening! like the college is saying i couldnt do the course she is doing, and that she doesnt need to bother with the course i am doing as she has GCSE's?

Well maybe she expressed different goals nad therefore is taking a different course.

Try calling different colleges for information, you dont neccesarily have to go to one of them but explore different options. Also Nursing here filled very quickly and the deadline for application was febuary for septemebr. Look into different schools and see if they offer the same or different opportunitties, also there are many different kinds of nursing jobs, home care to LPN to RN to other stuff make sure they understand and you understand what you want ot do.
