Engineering or Nursing?

It's harder to get in the Nursing program because they only take a select few. the entire 4 years of Engineering is hard. I kind of like doing bad things to myself for some reason. This is not a "which is easier" question but a "which one is more practical" question. which one is in more demand? Nurses, probably. Which has the highest pay? Starting and after 5 years of experience. (Mechanical engineering by the way.) See I like to help people BUT I am a very antisocial person. Don't like being around people much but I like helping people... it's weird. I'm a big sister and I love my little sisters and brother but I don't want any kids. I want to see them succeed in life. So after 4/5 years of schooling I want to be able to give them an easy ride through college. So that shows kind of my personality. Also, I've been out of school for 4 years. I have no children. A few mental issues. NOT a people person but at the same time "wish for world peace. save the children" type HELP!

A little more info. I'm 22. I took a lot of advanced courses in high school (Calculus, Physics, and such) Went to Governor's School in Mathematics... But I really don't think all of that matters since I've been out of school for about 3 to 4 years now. My marks in Math, Science, and English were always about the same level. Math being higher. I think I rather be stressed with number and equations than words though. All is welcome!

Engineering and nursing are both very in-demand fields; both have more job openings than qualified people to fill them. The pay can vary greatly from one place to the next, but both fields pay very well. Engineering has more potential for a higher pay after several years since you have potential to get in high positions of leadership, whereas a nurse will always be beneath a doctor. But the main factor you need to consider is which one you'd rather spend 40-60 hours a week doing for the rest of your life. Best of luck to you.

i think u should definitly do engineering, nursing just doesnt suit wut u just explained about yurself.

Ive been a nurse for 26 yrs and am married to an engineer that make twice as much money as I do. Nursing is very stressful. Talk to a counselor at college for more insight to which one is the best for you. GOOD LUCK!!!!
