do i go straight on for my RN or do they automatically put me through LPN training first??
anyways i wasnt shur because i have not talked to any councelors yet but i wanna go for my nursing license.

and how long does it usually take?? 2 years is what ive heard but i could be wrong. id be going full time during summer and winter intersession
thanks

Of course you go straight to college for your RN degree.

BTW nice photo... what is it you try to tell us?
The answerer below me forgot to mention between doctor (PhD) and BSN there is the MSN nurse

First you must start with pre reqs.

This is how it goes...
DOCTOR
BSN
RN
LPN
CNA

^basically. tha last is the lowest paying job and the scale is based on that. RN's must complete a full two year training. While LPNS must complete a year and a half of training. While RNs make alot more money then LPNS do. I say go on and get your RN. But it shouldn't be about how long it takes it should be about what you want to do.

A nurse is a special person, and not just anyone can do it.

No you don't need to be LPN before you can get your RN license. I would suggest getting really good grades in A&P (Anatomy & Physiology), Microbiology, General Biology or Math if your school requires it so check each school to make sure what their requirements are so you don't fall behind. Some schools require an entrance exam along with pre reqs

LPN school is 1 year with limited access to things like pushing meds. You need to be a RN in order to do certain jobs in almost all the states. RN delegates the work a LPN can do.
RN associate degree 2 years
BSN RN (baccalaureate of science in nursing RN) is 4 years

FYI:It is best if you go for your RN degree and the reason for that is they are trying to change the rules where LPNs (below RN 1.5 years in length) who are not grandfathered in need to get their RN license & nurses with an Associate degree (2 years but still RN). Nurses who have their BSN RN (4 year degree) can transition easily into becoming a nurse practitioner(NP) which takes an additional 1.5 years if you go full-time. If you decide to be an NP then you can specialize you will be one step below a doctor & above a PA (physician Assistant).
