Nursing...need advise!?

ok i plan on going to nursing school and im really scared because i no im not the most smartest thing ever. i've been hearing all these story's about how nursing school is so hard and i'll never finish it. but i already got into a community college to start a CNA class. so anyone have any advise for me? like any books i can go buy? Is there like a dictionary for RNs out there or anything? Thanks for your help!

P.S i'll take any kind of advise

"Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary" is a must for all Nursing students and nurses. It's an invaluable reference book.

Nursing requires a lot of memorization because of the latin terminology used to describe various body structures, etc.

You need to continually educate yourself as a nurse. Learning never ends.

You don't have to be a math wizard, but you need to know math and algebra to some extent. You need to have a tough skin to deal with the death and disease that you will be exposed to.

u alraedy in right path, good to have ur CNA diploma then go work in nursing home for more experience and from there to college to obtain an RN. good luck.

Start as a CNA first and see if it really is what you would like to do. Plenty of time to decide . Nursing is hard work and CNAs do all the dirty work for the nurses.

first take the CNA course and work as a CNA if you like that type of work then continue on with your nursing. Nursing school is very hard. Lots of memorization, lots of reading. You could go to a college close to you and buy a Fundamentals of Nursing and a medical nursing dictionary. If you can read these and understand the procedures in the nursing book. You may do okay. If you decide to go into nursing my advice is to take all your prerequisites before you get to the actual nursing. This way you can concentrate on just nursing classes and not on English, math, microbiology, chemistry, psychology, speech, etc while trying to do the nursing courses... good luck
