Nursing Questions?

I graduated from college with a 4 year degree in Communication and Religion. Unfortunately, I can't find a decent job beyond Administrative Assistant. I am thinking about going to Nursing School, and getting my RN. My questions are: How much do RNs make? How much does a traveling RN make (I heard a lot). And how much does a RN who works in a spa make? Also, is it better to go to a tech school or a college? Thanks for any advice!

It really depends alot on what state the RN works. For instance, I am an RN and work in Texas. When I lived in San Antonio, I made about 12$ less per hour than I make working in Dallas. I currenlty make about $55,000.00 per year, with good health and retirement benefits. RNs who work in spas don't make as much as hospital-based nurses (because of shift differentials), but I don't know about the traveling nurses. It is best to get your degree at a reputable college-based nursing program. Good luck!

Christine J, I would preferr that you go to a Technical College; because they offer that program and if your not satified with that field you can pursue another career of interest Report It

hey Christine, I'm researching some past Yahoo answers about nursing myself, since I am also interested in this field. It's actually not my first choice, but it is my second choice and I do enjoy working with people and helping them to feel better. I have come across some interesting answers. Just look under "Nursing" in yahoo answers. What i can tell you is that Nursing made the top 10 list in CNN's top high paying jobs only requiring an Associate's degree. I'll send you the link. Also, I think Nursing opens up many opportunities. You don't neccesarily have to work in a hospital, and your job will always be in high demand. I'm already applying to take my pre-requisites.Let me know how it goes with you...
