High school student at community college?

Next year I'm going to be in 11th grade, my school allows 11th & 12th graders to go to a community college and take classes. I want to be a psychologist, they don't have any classes dealing with psychology. They have a bunch of landscaping, comps, etc. My friend is taking a class called "Health and Sciences", it deals with being a nurse. I was wondering, would taking this class be helpful at all in becoming a psychologist? Its learning about the body and such. I know I want to help people, but I don't think I want to help them psycially as much as emotionally. But it would open my eyes to different things. How much on average does a nursing assistant make an hr? at a hospital? Also, Taking psychology classes in college, what does your homework usually consist of? What degree do you have to have to become a psychologist?

What you need to do is research the courses required for a degree in psychology.
All degrees require courses that aren't necessarily related to your field of expertise.
For example: English composition is required of all degrees, and Public Speaking is required for a majority of them.

My daughters took tennis and computer science. This went toward their graduation credits.
Take something different and fun you always will have courses to study. If you do become a psychologist you need computer skills and recreation.

I would recommend taking any other social science class, more related to yours, such as sociology, or child development, etc. But then again, you are only in 11th grade, it's good to worry about your major but also have some fun taking other classes that you might enjoy.

When getting a degree in college you have to take general classes to start off and then you will take specialized classes for your major later on. The best thing to do is make an appointment with a counselor at the community college and see what kind of classes they would suggest.

I took a couple of psych classes in college. the material is pretty interesting but the profs are usually psychos. I would be a kid a little longer and forget about college classes for now.

You need to talk to an advisor at the college to find out exactly what you need to take. However, your best bet would be to take all your prerequisites (ex. Comp. English and College Algebra) first to get them out of the way before you start concentrating on your major.

You can take your basic courses such as math, sciences, English, history at the community college until you transfer to a university where you would take your upper level courses towards your BA or bachelors degree. You need your bachelors degree preferably in psychology and but then would have to go to graduate school for another 3-5 years to pursue a PH.D in psychology. So you would need to obtain a doctorate to becoming a PH.D.. So you wouldn't want to take courses that don't to your degree like nursing classes; you would be wasting your time. You also have the option of coming a psychiatrist which is a medical doctor or M.D. that can legally perscribe medication where as a psychologist cant. Having a Ph.D. is like having a doctorate in philosohpy.

If the CC has it, take classes that deals with children and child developement. It'll help you understand the mind starting at children.

I'm not sure I could give you advice on everything you've asked but I do know that in bc a licence practical nurse can make anywhere from 17 to 20 depending on experience in Alberta the wage I believe it's a lot lower and most of the employment is in a nursing home . I do know the more remote the better chance that you will have in being able to secure full time employment with a good wage. I am in the health care field in a very remote location and the wage is good and I also have my rent paid but the hours are long and not a lot of time off so it depends on where you want to live i guess.
