Are there any nursing schools entirely (except clinicals) online?

I am a busy mom, but I would love to finish up college. I am trying to do something in the medical field, preferably nursing. Does anyone know if I can get a nursing degree online? If not, does anyone have tips on what I should put on my nursing school application to have a better chance at getting in? Also, does anyone know of any good nursing schools in the Chicago land area?

I should have clarified that I am looking to be a RN. I would like a hospital certificate/diploma, my associates or bachelors. My ultimate goal is to become a nurse practitioner.

There are a few like excelsior but i would stay away from them. You need the one on one in class room time and hands on time in lab. Some states and hospitals will not recognize online degrees for first time RN's. This is a different story lets say if you already had a Rn and were going for a masters.

I can only really answer the first point:

Step 1: Location there is an option for online

But to be honest.. not sure how comfortable I'd feel with a nurse who graduated with a completely on-line course. (NOt that they would say up front: "hey, my degree was earned completely on-line!")
The medical field just seems like one that should/would require time in certain classes. Sure, SOME classes could be online, but I'd think certain things needed to be done in labs and the like.

But good luck.
