How do I get started going to nursing school? |
I am 23, in the middle of a divorce, working a full-time job, with a 2-year-old that lives with me full-time. I want to go to nursing school. I've been to college before, 3 semesters. How do I go about getting in? What can I do to prepare? Any tips on balancing my son, my full-time job and school? Any advice is very much appreciated. Your first step is to find a local college or university that offers a nursing program. Then set up a meeting with a counselor. Be sure to take in your transcripts with you so they can tell you what general ed classes you need before applying to the nursing program. Most nursing programs have a wait. Some up to 2 years!!! take yourself to the nearest college and begin your nursing school prerequisities. you will be taking classes for 1-2 yrs before you even start nursing school. you can probably work and do classes at night. once you begin nursing school, you may need to stop working or go part-time though |
