Nursing question please answer and help me out a little.?

i am starting college again to become a nurse. i am 20 years old and would like to be an lvn at 23. is this possible.

i have to take pre courses then get into the nursing program at a junior college. ( is it hard to get into the program)

I am not that smart, but im willing to put everything i have to make it.

Do you have to be really smart to be a nurse?

Give yourself some credit, be positive and think positive. Being a nurse is hard work. You have to be able to think fast on your feet, and you have to remember a lot of drugs by 2 names and what they are used for and side effects, but if its what you really want to do then i am sure you will succeed

GOOD LUCK TO YOU

It is possible for you to become an LVN, in that time period. The courses are not easy, but remember a lot of people have taken and mastered them, so you can do it. You have to be smart enough to pass the licensing boards, but if you are smart enough to question us about it, you should be smart enough to pass the course, and then the boards.

I used to be a nurse. I am intelligent, but did only fair in nursing courses, but really well in non-nursing courses. I saw a lot of the reverse going on. People who did do well in nursing were not neccessarily the most intelligent. You have to be at least of average intelligence to be a nurse, if I had to guess, though, because you have to make important observations.

If you can take all the pre courses in a year, you could probably be an lvn by the time you are 23.

You don't have to be Einstein to get through the coursework, but it's not easy either. Hard work means a lot, and you sound very motivated.

Best of luck.....

I am not a nurse, but know plenty. I commend your ambition to become a nurse and think it is a wonderful profession with many different related career paths you can choose from. I strongly believe that in many professions, it is not so much your intelligence level that will get you ahead as it is your diligence and your attitude. I think if you do give it everything, like you say, then you will do just fine! Good luck!

Not that smart? Well, half of us aren't.
Willing to put everything into it?
Post again in a few months and let us know how well you're doing. Good luck.
.

My girlfriend is a student nurse and she loves it. She always says that if you are interested enough it is half the battle. you will find it easy if you like what you are doing. its a rewarding career.

It can be possible. If you are full time. I had to take 5 pre reqs and I still have 2 left. It is hard to get into the program at my school basically a C is really like an F so try and get good grades and come to every class it will pay off. Good luck!

1st don't put yourself down !! i went for my lvn at 31!! 2nd my advise for you is to go straight for your rn!!! alot of hospitals are phasing out lvn's!! just to let you know i have alot of rn's that come to me for advice on medicine and wound care sometimes it shocks me how they got there license!! good luck!!

I've worked with some really stupid nurses so if you put everything into it and work hard i don't see one reason why you wouldn't be able to achieve your goal.
