Is it to late for me to start trying to get my nursing degree at 29 years old?

I've been dreaming of becoming a nurse my whole life. But coming from a poor family i haven't had the chance to really go to college for nursing. Do you like I'm starting to late at 29 years old. Cause it feels like it......And I don't know where to start with a pass student loan. Will I be able to get another loan if the first one failed?

good heaven's no - go for it girl. go to the financial office and tell them your issues - that's what they are there for. Good luck!

your definetely not to old for school. Once you get there you will see the great range in ages there. Good Luck!

You are not too old, it takes what 4 years to get the degree? Think of it like this, you are gonna be 33 in 4 yrs whether you get the degree or not, so you might as well be 33 and a nurse instead of just 33. go for your dreams! You can still get loans, talk to the advisor at your school, GO FOR IT GIRL!--Good Luck!

No it is never to late go for it.You won't regret it.I promise you.

its not too late, dont give up! try and try again if thats what it takes. dont let anyone tell you its too late.

hi there ...god no its not too late...i went back to school to get my nursing degree when i was almost 23 with a baby on my own...it was hard at times but to be honest i found that they instructors were a little bit better with me than they were with the younger students with less life experience...and i found that on the whole, patients id trust me more than if i was say 17 or something going in to perform a procedure..oh and the class ranged all over the place in ages...so dont worry...the first class or two may be nervewracking but u'll slide right in in no time...You can do it! As for the loan...go to the financial ai office...they bend over backwards to help u get the loan...Good luck!

I didn't start nursing until I was in my thirties. I graduated in l985 and have been working for 22 years. It's definitely not too late. You may qualify for a loan if you don't have a defaulted loan. Nursing loans are usually forgiven I think after you start working. Good Luck! Don't give up.

I started back in nursing school at the ripe "old" age of 44, after a 20-year absence from full-time college. There were 6 or 7 other students in my class who were over 40. Funny, some of the younger students were the same age as my children! Go for it! Apply for scholarships, too. Ask at your school about other financial aid besides loans.

Absolutely not! There are people in their 80's that are graduating from college ;) Best of luck to you in your endeavors :)

There are two sources for student loans -- the federal government and private lenders. In order to obtain most federal student loans, you will first need to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). In most<!--instances the FAFSA is required for all federal financial aid including federal student loans. Deferment options are available while you are still attending school at least half-time. There are four main federal loan programs.

Federal loan consolidation is for students who are in repayment status or parents who wish to extend the repayment period on their current PLUS and obtain a fixed interest rate for the life of the loan-->you can combine all of your eligible federal student loans into one loan with a Federal Consolidation Loan. Consolidating also locks the interest rate you pay on your loan.

No, you're not too late to get your nursing degree. In Iowa, if one student loan fails, you can't get another one.
