I'm interested at taking nursing at age 18. How do I do that? I want to do this so I can pay for college.?

You have to get a degree in Nursing. For that you have to go to college.

First, see your career councelor.

Nursing is in high demand. There are several ways to can try this. The first is through the military <Army, Navy, Airforce...ect>, they have lots of college insentives and you'd be getting valuable hands on experience. With the nursing field, you'd probably <not guranteed> be in a safer place; not combat. The other option, is after you get a 4-year degree, a hospital will pay for your additional training...but this is more of a re-imbursement policy.

As long as you're not squimish <can handle blood, needles, and human waste> this is probably a great profession for you. Best wishes.

if you opt for nursing classes in a college setting then apply for financial aid...if you need it- there is a very good chance you will recieve it. lots of community colleges have great nursing programs. also try BOCES programs...financial aid is also eligible and classes are smaller and generally have a bit more flexibility with scheduling. most run either in the afternoon or the morning...and classes are 3 hours a day. good luck, we need more nurses!
