NURSING QUESTION...please help?

I live in the UK and I wanted to know if you needdd a maths GCSE to become a nurse I heard that you need english and science GCSE minimum but some nursing colleges say you have to have a maths GCSE above or at a C grade.I'm not studying maths but really want to be a nurse???Can I still do it without maths GCSE??

You can take the DC test at the University you apply to, you need to get a decent score to get through, you can get test paper from the Uni or on line. If you can get the grades its better, you need a good level of basic education to get in and do the work required to pass. Some of my student have appalling written and verbal skills I don't know how they got into the profession in the first place.

i was told by the college i applied to that you either have to have maths or science, to get into college or uni but don't need both as you can study the other subject alongside the health and social care course whenever you're ready and can re-take the exam for a small fee.

but you do need to have english for certain.

You need to check the requirements of the university where you want to train. Here is the minimum stated by the RCN (Royal College of Nursing).

Although you might find a couse that doesn't need maths you might find it easier if your maths is up to scratch.

It always used to be a prerequisite that you had maths English plus one science but not necessarily any more. Depending where you want to go you may need to exceed the requirements to get a place as many are over subscribed.
