US/Canada Nursing Universities/Colleges?

I'm currently living in the US, and I'm learning that most colleges/universities have a waiting list or interview process for majoring in nursing.

Is there any colleges/universites in the US that automatically accept you into their nursing program?

I've been told you can go to Canada, where you will automatically be accepted into their program. However, you must prove you have so much money in order to study there, and you must have high grades. Plus, the current classes taken in the US, are not transferrable there.

Can anyone confirm on any of this, or give more information?

there are no colleges that will accept you automatically. Nursing is a wanted-job out in the job market so everyone is trying to get a nursing degree. My friend wanted to go to Cal state-long beach for a nursing degree and her counselor said that she would have to be placed in a list and she might not be able to get into the class for another year.

In canada, its easier to get into classes. University of Toronto has nursing degree. FOr the first year, you would have to pay more moeny because you are not a resident. the second year you would pay what canadians pay for college. which is about like $3900 american dollar. The classes should be transferrable. Might want to contact the university before you make any big decisions.

We need new students down here, and they have one of the best medical programs in the country from what I understand.
