I'm 22 I'm waiting for my us citizenship its gonna take 2yrs..before my plan is to wait for my citizenship and go back to philippines and finish my nursing there..because if I'm going here in california there's a waiting list..but right now 2yrs of waiting for my citizenship it kinda long and if I start to taking classes here right now maybe in 2yrs I'm in the nursing program already and finish it faster than to go back in philippines..I don't know pls help cause in philippines nursing school there's no waiting list and its a bachelors but its gonna take 4yrs..so if I wait my citizenship 2yrs its gonna take me 6yrs after to finish. Pls help..

Be careful about this. If you go abroad long term, you can lose your green card. Make sure you get a letter from immigration saying that they will allow you to attend a foreign university without losing your green card before you do it.

Filipino universities have well-respected nursing programs. There may be some extra work you will have to do to get RN status if your education is abroad, but it sounds like reasonably good idea, on the whole.

I know two years would seem a long time, but i would wait since residents of california get to go to college pretty much for free. Then you don't the hassle of paying for college debt while starting out, since it takes atleast two years of intense scholling to become an RN which means no work on the side. Get an easy job, save your money for when you go to college, and enjoy yourself for those to years before becoming a citizen. Good luck.
