What's the salary range for someone who's fresh out of college with Bachelor's in Nursing (BSN)?

Check out the link below. It has some good information that could help you. Good luck. And Thank You for deciding on such a career. A good nurse is hard to find.

I would say a new grad BSN can typically expect a range from 35-50k depending on what region they are working in, what hospital they work at (i.e. whether it is a community or for-profit hospital) and what specialty they choose.

Generally speaking those specialties with a higher "intangible" benefit (OB, doctor's office nurses) will get paid less and those that work more intense jobs with on call required (OR, ER) will get paid more.

Additionally, east & west cost cities generally speaking pay more for nurses. To throw out a couple of examples from people that I know, a new grad working in a TX OB floor might make like $22 an hour and a new grad working in an IN Medical-Surgical floor might make around $19-20 to start.

The main thing to remember about nursing is that it is not exempt from overtime. Any nurse that works over 40 hours a week is entitled to overtime.

The salary/remuneration for a particular job is the market value for a particular profession and designation at the city/town where the office is located. Job postings at websites like Monster, Yahoo HotJobs and Careerbuilder carry information about salaries. The Govt Dept of Labor, (www.bls.gov) Bureau of statistics has information about median salaries for different professions and details of additional compensation offered. Other online resources are salary.com and payscale. Your salary will also depend on your educational qualification and how you handle your career.
