Do you think age 42 is getting to old to go back to college and take a nursing program.? |
Do you think age 42 is getting to old to go back to college and take a nursing program.? ABSOLUTELY NOT. I am 41 years old and in my 3rd year. When I graduated with my associates I had the highest grades out of everyone in the program. I think being older helps you to be a better student. Don't get me wrong it's not a breeze, you have to work at it. But it is worth it. Heck no, you go girl! No, You're never too old. I went at 46 and did fine, everyone was great at the college. I do private duty nursing now and I love it. Take a chance, you will be so very proud of such an accomplishment, it's also fun, Go for it and Good Luck No. If you have worked in any profession, healthcare or not, you bring a wealth of experience and maturity, to the class. ABSOLUTELY NOT! No! As long as you put your mind to it you can and will achieve it. I am now 43 I have been trying to go back to school to finish my nursing degree now for many years. I have let a husband, two wonderful kids and a slue of excuses stop me and it took my husband after 19yrs of marriage to tell me it was over for me to look in the mirror and say nothing or no one is going to stop me again. I am now in college and in two years I will have that nursing degree. So I say we are never too old to go back to college and take up any program. One is never too old to go back to school. Non-trads are focused, determined, and the reward of aquiring a degree at any age is quite fulfilling. A few years from now you could be saying "what if?" or you could be saying "I did it!" It is up to you. Definitely not!! The only thing standing between you and your dream is doubt. When my sister was in college, the oldest nursing student in her class was 60 years old. She had been married for years, sent her kids to college and then decided to pursue her lifelong deferred dream. She enjoyed the classes, graduated and got a job. You can do it!!! NEVER< EVER GIVE UP! Carpe Diem! |
