Nursing Colleges in NY w/o strict pre-entrance pre-req's?

Please name some 2- or 4- year colleges (preferably in Long Island, Queens, or Brooklyn) in New York that don't require the pre-requisites to be completed by the application deadline (I am applying as a transfer student). I already hold a BA in a nonrelated field. I want to earn either an A.S. or B.S. in nursing.

Thus far, I have applied to Farmingdale (got rejected), Molloy, and Adelphi. I haven't heard back from the other two. Please list more schools where I may be eligible to apply (for the fall of 2008). Thanks in advance.

The only way you can "transfer" into a nursing program is if you are coming from another nursing program and usually is very complicated.

All nursing schools have prereq's to weed out people that can't cut it. However, your BA in another field can help you get into an "accelerated RN" program that you can do in 15-18 months. Your BA in another field might even cover the pre-req's they are requiring. Most AS/BS require Anatomy + Physiology before you even think about setting foot in the nursing classes, as well as Chemistry with Lab (high school level with C or higher is accepted) basic writing and math skills etc.

You are competing against people who have completed all their courses besides nursing with a 3.5-4.0 - you are never going to get accepted to a limited program without the same standard. I would recommend doing most of the required non nursing classes at a community college then applying to the nursing program.
