Top Nursing Colleges - Specificially Florida?

I'm trying to find out which colleges in Florida are the best for nursing, but I can't seem to find any information.

There aren't any "Best of the Best" nursing programs out there; or, at least, I haven't seen any literature or rankings on the subject. If they offer a 4 year degree, they all have to abide by certain rules/regulations w/ regard to teaching specific subjects; so, they're all teaching a lot of the same thing.

Now, if you have instructors that are top-notch, that's great, too. Clinically (when you actually are in school AND working at a hospital doing your clinical rotations), it's best to have a more seasoned nurse working alongside you. This can be an instructor (but they're usually only with you for 1-2 patients) or one of the nurses on the unit on which you will be working.

Either way, it's all about your environment... who works around you, who you work around, etc. The more seasoned a nurse is, the more you'll pick up.

When you get out, I'd recommend at least 6 months of Med-Surg nursing to learn your basic skill sets. You won't regret this; then, you can go to whatever specialty you wish.

Good luck. The NCLEX is not as hard as everyone makes it out to be. If your nursing school has a good pass rate, then they'll be teaching you what is needed to pass.

Try FAU College of Nursing.

We've just built a brand new building for the students. It's beautiful. And very soon they're building a teaching hospital on campus (for the nursing and medical students)
