I don't have insurance but I need to have a physical for the nursing program at my college...?

How much will a complete physical cost me? I haven't been to the doctor in years so I figure as long as I'm there I should also have a Pap smear done and I know I need the first shot of the set in the Hepatitis B vaccine. I also need to have a titre done to prove I've had chicken pox and a TB skin test. Total, how much can I expect to pay for these services?

I took this semester off because I was on the waiting list for the nursing program and no further pre-reqs to take. Due to not taking classes at this moment, I cannot go to the clinic on campus.

Most college campuses have clinics available at low or no cost to students. Most all reproductive services such as a pap/cervical exam/STD check should be covered....Also, check with your local health department as they offer these same services for low income individuals.

If you are without insurance and head to a clinic/hospital be prepared to pay in upwards of a few hundred to nearly a grand. Be sure to tell them upfront that you do not have insurance so that they don't just assume they can run numerous tests without your permission and you may be able to get a 10% or greater discount for payment in full upfront.

(edit) I was in a very similar situation when I was in college and made the mistake of thinking I could just go to my family doctor who I had been to since I was 2. He did a standard pap and an std check. I expected the bill to be maybe $300 or $400 hundred at most including lab work. Not so - I received a bill for for nearly $1,200. Turns out my pap test showed abnormal cells so without my permission the clinic ran additional tests to see if I had cancer. Lucking those tests came back normal but I paid dearly for it. Just be sure you inquire about fees and let them know you are paying without insurance. Also, check for free or reduced health clinics and the your local health department which most likely with do the reproductive portion of your required testing..:)
