Nursing colleges?

i recently graduated with an MS in Bio. I am considering changing careers to either speech therapy or nursing. How competitive is it to get into a community college nursing program i Southern California and which colleges are easy?

i dont know about your state, but there is such a HUGE demand for nurses, i think you chose wisely to consider it.

and there are lots of scholarships/grants/funding for it as well.

cant go wrong in that field.

Stay away from nursing. The patients hate you. The doctors hate you. The families hate you. The administrators hate you. The other nurses hate you. There's no time for patient care - all you do is pass pills and do paperwork. You'll put in 2-3 hours daily overtime without pay. If you make an error the hospital will not stand behind you when you're sued. You'll lose your home and your license and wonder why no one stopped you from going to nursing school.

I am from Ventura County and was planning on attending nursing school at my local community college which offered an associates degree in nursing- took two years. Entrance was guaranteed if you fulfilled all the class requirements (you might have to take some "basic health care provider" skills classes if you were interested) BUT the waiting list was over two years long when I was looking into it. Mt Saint Mary's college in Los Angeles offers an accelerated (very fast paced) program for those who already have at least a BA to get their BA in nursing....Mt. Saint Mary's is private and expensive though. Good luck.
