Going into Nursing School at Community College. What goes on the first semester? |
What types of learning goes on the first semester in nursing school. The classes I am enrolled will include clinicals. Can anyone tell me what I will go through in the core nursing classes? I have finished all my pre-reqs. I am reading these yahoo answers and everyone is saying its hard to get through..what do they mean? Also, alot of people saying Nursing is hell. Thats a bit discouraging but this is something I have wanted to do for a long time so I plan on sticking with it. Congratulations on your decision to go into nursing. I am an RN and have been for about 20 years. The nursing programs have changed much over the years to reflect the actual changes in nursing. Nonetheless, it is a rewarding career if your heart is set on it. I think you would be dealing a lot of basic medical/nursing subject. Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology and may be a bit on Biochemistry. The skill-based would definitely be basic i.e blood pressure, swapping and etc. A lot depends on where you find a job. Experience helps you get out of bad sitautions. |
