Im going to school for nursing, and my college said that they do a "point" system to see if I'll be accepted |
into the program, now tell me this...what is a point system!?!? You get points for every positive- if you have a 4.0GPA maybe you get 5 points, you get 4 points for a 3.5, etc. It can also apply to standardized test scores, extracurricular activities, all kinds of stuff. So everybody gets points for all this stuff, and then the people with the most points get in. A point system is like a grading system where marks are rated or ranked from highest to lowest depending on several criteria which are usually assigned a specific value or score. Some courses may be quota courses - that is, only students achieving its required specific percentile rank are admitted into and/or could be maintained in a particular course. That is basically to keep up with the standards required by the course. Point systems though may vary across educational levels and institutions. |
