What's better-nursing cert from comm college or b.s degree?

I am at a crossroad and need help. If I try to go to community college to get a RN cert I will have to do about 2 years of prerequisites before I can apply to the program. Would it be better just to go to a 4 year college and get my bachelors? I am 26 and rapidly getting to old to waste more time!! Thank you!!

This is a common question pre-nursing students ask all the time. There is no difference between a two-year RN vs a BSN, unless you go for a managerial position. As patient care nurses, it is all the same. Same pay, same respect. No one cares what degree you have except for you!

Grab the 2 year RN, then when you are working as a full-time nurse take part time classes to do RN to BSN.

I didn't go back until I was 30. I started from scratch. I finished right when I turned 34. Yes, there is a waiting list.

In short, grab the first program that is within reach and don't worry about ADN vs BSN
good luck to you

a bachelor's degree is way better

you'll be more qualified and you'll have more job opportunities

Im not an RN. It seems the same whichever way you go. I would suggest getting your BS. If would enhance your chances in exploring other health care professions in the event you decide not to become a nurse after all. Besides a 30 year grad is not old, unless you look and feel 50

To obtain a bachelors degree at a state university, you must have at least 140 credit hours; which is like 45 classes total.
You still have to meet a lot of prerequisites. But having a bachelors degree is better than just getting a certificate or an Associates degree.
