What is the relation of college algebra to nursing course?

what does algebra got to do with nursing in some ways

The importance in a math course is not neccessarily the in the material your are studying. Studying math forces your mind to exercise certain parts of the brain. It strengths your ability to reason, to form logical conclusions based on the provided information. In nursing especially this is important. After all, you almost never have all the information and you can not afford to make mistakes. So study hard and good luck.

medicine

It has a LOT to do with it! You will use it to figure dosages, dosing schedules, etc.

i don't know...i took statistics...which makes sense....sorry can't help you out

There is actually very little algebra required when nursing as a profession (in the hospital). However, the course does reinforce the basic math skills required of nurses. For example, many nurses have to convert weight of patients from pounds to kilograms. This requires solving for an unknown, as in the following equation:
k = p * (2.2), where p=pounds, and k=kilograms.
Most dosages on drugs are given as mg/kg, while most Americans measure weight in pounds.

You know what? I'm asking to myself that too! "Is that subject related to my course and could I used it in the future"? is that formula could help me in doing something"? the truth is definetly "No". It couldnt help you in the sence of applying it to that situation, because not all you studied could apply in real world, but it could help you to think deeper and analyzing a situation. Because that kind of information could help you to think better and better. this is all I can say... "PROBLEM SOLVING WILL HELP YOU TO ENHANCE YOUR THINKING ABILITY TO OTHER SITUATION IN THE FUTURE".
