Help from EI in Manitoba for going to university/college for nursing program?

I live in Manitoba, Canada.

I am taking my nursing program. There is a 2 yr wait.

Anyway, I heard that EI will actually let you quit your job and GO on EI and help you pay for your nursing program because they want nurses.

Has anyone heard about this or done this? I am going to Employment manitoba on Tuesday to talk to them, its just so far away and I want to know if its true.

What were the conditions?

I know that they do have an exception for the nursing program, because they suggest you don't even work part time while taking it. Ill go on Tues and find out.

I dont think you can just quit. You have to have left for a reason. You still need to be eligible for EI and quitting does NOT make you eligible.

I spent 8 months on EI - 5 months for medical and 3 months job hunting.
