4 year university of community college for Nursing?

I am a high school senior and looking into colleges. I know I want to become a registered nurse and then a nurse practitioner.

This is my plan:
Get my RN which will take 2 years ( I already got all the program requisites out of the way by taking AP classes and college courses at a community college over the summer). [ Was thinking of ding this at a community college]

Work full time for 2 years while going to school part time (for 2 years) and get my bachelors [in a RN to BSN program].
I will have 2 years of work experience and therefore be able to apply to a masters program right after I get my bachelors. [Graduate school requires work experience]

My problem:
I want to go to the University of Maryland, it has a 4 year Nursing program so I wouldn't be able to get my RN after 3 years [2 years for me because I did my prerequisites already] and begin working.

Question:
Is it possible to get your RN after 3 years of college (even if you don鈥檛 have your Associates degree)

I guess i made this unclear...

You go to a 4 year school, can you get your RN and start working before you get your BSN or can I only do this by going to a community college first?

I dnt live in the States...But What I know is yes U can...even if the University of Maryland says its 4 years,,,U have to see the credit hours for the WHOLE COURSE...I have many freinds who did complete Nursery in 3 years..,,,,so yes u can But SIMPLY U NEED MORE EFFORT AND MORE COURSES PER SEMESTER.

You do not need an associates degree to get your nursing degree. As a warning, when it comes to working full time and going to school it can sometimes slow you down, because taking a full load of classes might be too much for you, or the classes might not be offered when you need them. I currently work full time, and I am taking 18 credit hours. Sometimes it can be difficult trying to put school first when I have to go to work and get a lot done. Try to find a part-time job that has some sort of tuition assistance that will give you money for going to school.

Good luck!
