Going to college for Nursing??

I'm going to college in the fall and thinking about majoring in Nursing. Does anyone know if a lot of math is needed for nursing?? (Math isn't my best subject :) Any help is appreciated!!! Thanx

Well it depends on if you want a bachelors or an associates degree. You will need to take math 1010 and 1050 for and associates (this is the least amount) and if you want a bachelors you may need to take more. Although if you are going to college for nursing math is the least of your worries Chemistry and Anatomy were harder for me than math by far and I always thought math was the worst! Really honestly math isn't alot of peoples subject you just have to dedicate yourself to do it and if you fail try try again! Don't plan your major based on the least amount of math because most all majors require the minimal math(which is difficult for us math haters)!

yup it is. take an extra math class too

It should be about the same amount of math as any other degree, but you are going to have lots of Biology.

i think you just have to take the basic math courses. Probably only 2 unless you are way behind in the subject.

Yes and the more you do it the better you will become.

It would all depend on the type of degree you get and the college you attend. I am working on my degree and as far as I am aware, there is very little math involved.

Yes it has alot of math. You need to know dosage of drugs you or the doctor are prescribing to the patient. Need to know how to give the patient depending on weight and age. You have to know how to convert mg to kg, mL to L, and so on. Its very important to know.

i thought that was natural the women to nurse their babies !

hi im actually goin for nursing to and the most subjects u need is math and science and so just try to do good in them and pass and it will look good in ur collage degree

I'm a nursing student in Ohio and we're only required to take one math and then statistics our junior year. Our program is based in the sciences (Anatomy, Microbiology, Chem and Organic Chem). I'm taking Modeling Algebra and it isn't hard at all...it's like algebra II all over again. Good Luck and I hope you choose a major that will lead you to a comfortable future!
