Do I still need to pass the board exam for nurses in my own country before I can take the NCLEX-RN in the US? |
I'm about to graduate with this October with a BS in Nursing degree and after that, I'll be going to the US with a fiance visa. And I was hoping that after I get my working permit I would be able to practice my profession after passing the NCLEX for registered nurses The USA exam is all that counts in the USA..check with NCLEX to be sure .. check out this site for more info: It not only is dependent on your license from your own country but, the type of school you graduated from. I have staff that were nurses from other countires and needed to take more classes once they arrived in the US before they could sit fortheir boards. Then there were those who had schooling equivalent to that of the U.S. and they only had to take the boards. You will need to provide them the info from your school and then they will let you know. |
