What kind of jobs can a nurse get with an emergency and disaster management degree?

Also, what kind of salary could one expect with these qualifications?

Never actually put those two things together, but I am also a nurse, formerly ER and now business side of nursing, and it sounds like an awesome set of experience.

I found a specialty in business that fit my combination of education. I think the other person is right that a charge nurse in the ER is probably what you are looking at, with possibility of being added to every disaster preparedness class it offers.

Or you could check out the business/insurance side and you might find a fit. My qualifications and experience guided me into a field where I have better hours (work and take vacation when I want), money (around 100k/yr), and still make a difference! Possibly teaching courses for health plans, physician groups, hospitals or nursing schools could be an option. You could consider becoming a consultant and market yourself that way either directly or through a TPA (third party administrator). I guess it depends on whether you want the hands on or teaching. I personally got tired of the long hours, fractional compensation, and the physical/emotional toll floor nursing took.

Don't misunderstand me, we need hospital nurses and we need more. Not every nurse can work on the corporate side though. You sound has though you have a great background and might be a suggestion worth exploring.

Good luck!

My guess would be some sort of ER head nurse or any with trama, but I'm not entirely sure
