What kind of careers can I have if I get an Associates Degree in Studio Art?

I want a degree in art, so I can at least have some kind of fall back plan if I don't take to nursing well.

Choose something more stable than art if you're looking for a "backup" career. Commercial art/illustration jobs are hard to get and rarely last for more than a few years at a time.

If you're going to pursue art, it needs to be your primary focus. It's a difficult industry to make it in, and you really need to sell yourself and hustle to get a foot in the door.

Maybe you can do design work for communications agencies (designing brochures and ads and such).
