If I have a BA in Biology and now decide to take an Associate in Nursing, can I go straight for my MSN/BSN?

Because I don't want to go back for another degree, I want to know if I can obtain the master in nursing after the associate since I already have a BA in Biology.

Yes, you can go from an A.A. in nursing to a MSN/Nurse Practitioner if you have a Bachelor's in anything. The BSN is more of an administrative degree (for someone who wants to be in nurse management) than it is an advancement of practical nursing.
But, so you know.....a NP needs two years of nursing experience for most clinical jobs.

Good luck to you!

sure y not i mean i dont know much in those fields but go for it

caution, an old gf took 12 years to get her two year nursing degree. dinked around to much. you need a couple classes for RN. i think you are well on way for masters.

some universities have programs for ppl that already have a degree. Its called an excellerated program. Yes you can go straight in to a masters program if you can get into such a program. I dont remember which school does it but you can look on internet. Check out NurseWeek.com. Good luck

Every school will have different regulations so you need to check with a few schools. My daughter has a BA in Psychology and she has found a program where she can complete her nursing degree in two years in Ontario, Canada. I don't think you can go directly to the masters in nursing without the undergraduate in nursing - only the school can really give you that answer.

Best of luck with your plans.
