How challenging did you find Nursing school? (RN)?

I am considering a career change from business to Nursing. At this stage in my life (35, 2 small kids), I'd like to know what I'm in for as far as workload. I'm of at least average intellegence and currently hold a business degree. I will not be working outside the home during my schooling. Also, I'd love to hear from recent grads especially those in New England about their experience finding a job and negotiating a salary. Thanks so much!

Nursing school is difficult for it is very time consuming when you get to the clinical portion usually your second semester. During clinicals you have to go to the hospital, pick a patient then write a care plan for them. Academically, I did not find it that difficult if you passed your prerequisites you should do fine. So, for the most part the time factor is what I foresee as the tough part for you, having two children. However, many people with children have passed through with children so you should be able to do so also.
