Nursing Pole... The publics view.? |
Please read the following items which define a "profession". I mean POLL!! lol Nursing certainly is a profession. A person can get a Master's degree in the field, there's nursing associations, and nursing journals. A license is required to be a nurse and a nurse has some autonomy to administer treatments in accord with the patient's condition and the doctor's orders. The position of Director of Nursing is filled by a person with the knowledge to oversee the care of patients in nursing homes, etc. Nurses do a lot of the care that a person receives in hospitals, and they provide important assistance to doctors. Nurses are definitely respected by the public. Yes in my opinion nursing is a profession. Although some individuals from my experience need to be taught good communication skills to go with it. I've always heard of and considered it a profession. |
