What options do i have- I have finished all my nursing prerequisites.? |
finished Micro, Anatomy, Physio, Nutrition, Chem, English 1A/ 1B, Algebra, Sociology, Speech, Psych, and a few others. My question is: does this qualify me for a position within the health care field? Or get me close to something? I live in the bay area and the nursing programs are so impacted that I may be waiting a long time. Do I have any options? My GPA is high and I have about 120 units total but no degree. Should i just go get a degree in liberal arts while I am waiting to get into a nursing program? Yes, run don't walk. With 120 units it should not take long to get a degree. Unless you are the next "Bill Gates"; I would get that degree. Any degree will increase your employment opportunity. . If you advance to a Masters or PhD in nursing a degree in Liberal Arts will be a plus on your resume. I would also suggest higher math than Algebra. Of course there are no laws that say you must ONLY reside in the Bay area. There are lots of schools looking for a student with high GPA, some will have scholarships. Go out and apply to schools across the country while you are finishing your Liberal Arts degree. Surely with all that fine qualifications, you could maybe work something out for yourself and if not why not? |
