Can i still become a registered nurse if i have a bachelors degree in biology? Nursing is a specialty major at a college at either the diploma, associates degree and bachelors degree. Graduate degree programs do exist. However, biology is one area of knowledge a registered nurse needs. The degree or diploma program includes classroom course instruction includes anatomy, physiology microbiology, chemistry, nutrition, psychology, behavioral sciences, and nursing. In addition, there is supervised clinical experience. It is because there is a lot of patient care and treatments dispensed by registered nurses. It also requires state licensing to be able to practice in it. Overall, most likely you will have to go back to college for either the diploma or associates degree in registered nursing. However, you need to talk to someone in your college's nursing department. Sure, assuming you meet the educational, testing, and training requirements for a registered nurse. You need to contact the licensing agency for RNs in the state in which you wish to be licensed and ask them exactly what they require.
