Would you chose nursing or radiology?

I'm trying to decide. WHich one pay better? I pursing an AS degree in either. I prefer nursing but I am not sure.

Nursing is the 1# job needed by hospitals for 2008

Nursing is a well paying job and you will find work easily Report It

You should apply to job shadow people in both careers to see which is more interesting to you. Most hospitals offer this- just look on their website.

I watched a family member die on an oncology floor that specialized in leukemia. ( Major hospital of the southern states)

of all the people that died in the months while I was there - (not quite a yr)about 3 out of 5 were employeed in the field of radiology.

In other words - I would NEVER let anyone I know and love be employeed in that line of work

people can say what they want - I know what I saw - nothing they can say can change that

next day - I see what people are saying about me. oh well. I only know what I WITNESSED FIRST HAND.

Sorry, but Sugarpie is full of crap... it is a very safe career. Why is it that of the dozens and dozens of people I know in the field, only one or two had cancer?

Why would I, or anyone else for that matter, choose a career that was going to kill us?

That said, you say you prefer nursing, so that's what you should do. If you do something just for the money, you will be miserable.

I agree that sugarpie is full of crap. I also agree that you shouldnt choose something just for the money.

if you prefer nursing then thats probably what you should do. If you havent already, go and spend a day in both fields and experience it, then see what one you liked more at the end of the day.

I thought i wanted to be a nurse but ive been doing clinicals in a lot of other departments and now i just cant choose, but im pretty sure i dont want to do nursing anymore.

Just try to pick the job that will make you the happiest. After all, that is all thats really important in life.

i guess it depends on what u really want do what will make you happy...dont let money make that decision if you wont be happy in your job. i think radiology would be more interesting but thats just me.
