Can i be a rn with a associates degree in applied science in medical assisting?

I wanted to know if i could become a registered nurse with an associates degree in medical assisting or am i licensed to be a lpn?

In the State of Ca, which is probably like many States, you must have graduated from an accredited RN program before they will let you sit for boards. I believe LVNs are the same.

Go to the nursing school counselor and get the information directly from there

No, you have to take specific nursing courses for both the LPN and RN licensures. You can sit for the NCLEX-PN and NCLEX-RN, but I don't think you would do very well unless you have the nursing courses in your background. MA and LPN are totally different things, totally different scopes of practice

POSSIBLY... This is according to what University that you attended, what state you live in, the requirements in your particular state,... It would be easier for your university/college to answer this. I know that it will be necessary for you to pass an exam to be a Registered Nurse, no matter what state you live in. I hope that this helps. If you give additionsal details then I may be able to answer your question more fully. Have a great holiday season!

No you cannot, and it is highly doubtful that you could sit for the nclex-pn either. Medical assisting does not prepare you to take care of patients in an acute care setting.
