I read about travel nursing, and it sounds great, but is there something similar for Physician Assistants? |
The opportunity for move around and good pay makes travel nursing attractive to me. I really like the way the system is set up. However, I was thinking of going straight for a PA degree without becoming a nurse (maybe working in a lower position while working on B.A. to get hands-on hours needed). Yes. There are several of these companies. You should have no problem finding one. I traveled as a Pathology PA with a company called CHG (CompHealth Group) and they take Physician Assistants as well. There are also opportunities to volunteer with groups like the Peace Corps and Doctors Without Borders if you are interested in working with under- served populations. Good luck! Yes; in the medical field this is called "locums tenens". The PA journals list some places that do this in the back classified adds. I have been a locums to the Eastern Shore of Maryland for 5 summers |
