Radiology Technologists VS Nursing(RN)? |
I'm looking to see which job would be easier to have a family with. RT would be an associates degree and Nursing would be a BSN as far as school goes. Is the salary about the same? Which is less stressful? The radiologist definitly is less stressful. Wife completed RT training (3 yrs including prerequisites) a year ago. She works full time in orthopedic surgery doctors' office. 8-5 weekdays, no weekends or shift work which is important for family life. Patients are not critically ill. Salary $68k. Not stressful. She loves it. It depends on the type of place you work. The nurse could work in a slow-paced outpatient office and the RT could work in the ER of a huge trauma hospital, or vice versa. Don't let anybody tell you that being an RT isn't stressful - they don't know what they're talking about. |
