Please advice? Nursing Career?

I'm thinking about getting associate degree in nursing. I was wondering do you or someone you know work as a nurse and whats there experience like. Usually what is the salary range?
What tests I will have to take in end? How long do I have to go for to become LPN or RN

There is a program for LPN for 10 months only. Then you can work to RN gradually. LPN salary depends on where you are.

Associates degree is 2 years of school, a BSN is 4. You need to pass a government test after you graduate before you can get your liscense. A starting nurse in the hospital where I work makes around $20-$25 an hour, I believe. I have been a nurse almost 10 years, and work in ICU. I make about $70,000 a year. I work only night shift, which stinks, and I also have to work every third weekend, and several holidays a year, which also stinks. It can be a stressful job and there are days when it is understaffed, so you really run your butt off. It is not a job for th lazy thats for sure! Good luck

I am an RN - I graduated from High School and three weeks later started in at a nursing school for nearly two solid years.
Very little breaks... in the early days of the class room we had all class - then three days of clinical -
one day of teaching and Fridays testing in school -
we would rotate around medical surgical floors, to the OR, ER,
and OB floor - and did some geriatric training too -
I had to pass the state boards - and you could work but not do any real "nursing" until you passed the boards.

The pay rate for an RN is roughly $45-65,000 a year
depends on your city - and the demand -

An LPN is a one year course with state boards
and is also a good start - to see if you are cut out for the job!

I just graduated with my associates in nursing. I take the boards in 3 days! eek! I work in a small town in MN where the cost of living is very low and I'll start around $23/hr. In the Twin Cities RN's usually start around $25/hr. I like the program I was in, because I was able to get my LPN first and work for higher wages than a CNA before getting my RN. I had all of my gen eds done and it took me a year for my LPN and a year for my RN. I would get a CNA job and get your foot in the door. Although BSN nurses will be able to advance as charge nurse or other positions before a 2 year RN, I have to say it's nice to be very comfortable with all of my skills when I start as an RN on an OB unit, because I worked as an LPN for a year. I am also going back to school for my BSN.
You'll have to do your research on different programs. After you graduate you will have to take the Nclex RN. If you get your LPN you will have to take the Nclex LPN. Its a difficult test, but with the proper studying, you'll be fine. I took a Kaplan course and although it was expensive, I would take it again, because it has a high success rate for passing the boards.
Goodluck!

I don't know if your american or english but in england you can do 2 yrs studying and then you can start your nurses trainning, they usually start on 拢17, 500 then it will go up to 拢20,000 - 拢30,000 matron nurses earn up to 拢50,000. but please dont become a nurse, my mums a nurse, it is very stressful and is not worth the money, go for another job in healthcare that is.
