Suggestions for changing my career from nursing to something with animals...? |
I'm going to graduate with a bachlor's degree in nursing next spring. I love science and medicine, but I've realised that nursing is definitly not the job for me...too stressful. I need to finish the degree and get a job right away due to money reasons, unfortuently. I don't mind working as a nurse for awhile to save some money, but in the meantime, I'd also like to start getting expierience in a animal related job--i'm interested in pretty much anything with animals, particularly vetrinary medicine, training dogs, fish aquariums. Any ideas of how i could best go about this would be welcomed! thanks :) Unsure what environment you intended to work as a nurse, but we have a huge nursing shortage in this country. Premium salaries are being paid in all arenas, hospitals, medical offices, long-term care, insurance companies, etc. Sorry to add to your stress, but as a health care administrator for over 10 years, we need nurses. I was a medical speech pathologist fo 20 years, but ended up starting a pet sitting service. Vets are always happy to refer clients who need medical procedures such as injections, dressing changes, and subq fluids. |
