Nursing work experience? |
im nearly 17 and would like to do a degree in nursing at university but would like some experience in a hospital with children. Is this possible, what with guidlines etc. Does any one know the rules, would I be able to follow round a nurse or just play with children in the hospital etc You could try applying for a nursing assistant in that area of the hospital or apply as patient care technician, you may need to take a short class to do that job, though. You can look at volunteer programs at your local hospitals. Also, when you're volunteering, let the nurses know that you are considering nursing a career. Be warned, nurses are rather infamous for "eating our young", but there are always nurses around who love to teach. |
