Moving during nursing school....many questions related to school, LPNs and RNs in one? |
I am currently in my first semester of nursing school and some circumstances have come up to where I may need to move halfway through my degree (which is an associates degree in nursing and I would be changing states, NC to NV). If I stay here long enough to get through my first year and summer semester, will I be able to test to become an LPN? Would it be better to try to have all my credits transfer and try to get into a nursing program in NV without my LPN or should I get my LPN and get into the LPN to RN bridge program. Either wayI would be entering into the second year at the new school. Has anyone done this? Anyone moved in the middle of their degree have any advice? I really don't want to move, I would like to finish my 2 years here and become an RN but it might be unavoidable. Any info on the LPN to RN bridge program, moving or anything useful would be greatly appreciated...I'm getting really stressed out about the whole situation. Thank you. Stay where you are and finish if you can. I had to move mid way too and it was terrible, the new school wanted me to redo a lot of my classes. It would have taken me another two years to graduate, so I gave up. So if you have to move, check with the school you will be going to and see if you will have any problems like that prior to moving so you can make the decision to stay put for an extra year. Good luck and welcome to a very admirable profession. |
