Is it better to get your associates, bachelor degree, or to get a three-year diploma for nursing?

This question is for requirements to become a Nurse Corps Officer and I was just wondering which way I should go.

bachelor degree it will help you in a long run cause even if you dont like nursing your classes will more then likely fall into other majors and most jobs look at the education.

Lets put it like this...who would you hire someone with an associates,bachelor or a three year.?

My suggestion would be to get the one that's the quickest first and get a job. Once you are employed, you can go back and get a higher degree. Sometimes employers pay for this!

B.A. will probably pay the most but with the shortage check around you may be able to get the quick associates and then let your job pay for the bachelors.

I would go for the Bachelors.

BS in Nursing opens more opportunity for advancement in the long haul.

Bachelors Holds more water if you can also pass the Board exam.

depends on what kind of nurse
RN, LPN,CNA, etc. all have different requirements.

If money is your goal then by all means go for the quickest route, but the most common path (at least for those who I know) is to get a Bachelor's.

If you want to have any chance of advancing beyond nurse duties, you need a bachelor's degree.

Before you sign up for the nurse corps, ask the recruiter if there are any advantages either way.

Go to a 2 year school. Get your Associate degree. Take NCLEX-RN. Get a job.
Then go back to school and take credits towards your bachelor degree. You may want to get a Master's degree later. Good luck!

it depends really on how quick u want to start work i would get the quickest degree just to go ahesd and get u r foot in the door then progress as high as u can go and as u work and go to school you'll find it easier to pass classes because you'll have some experience and knowledge from work experiences well hope this helps.

Bachelors degree,then shoot for your masters. A bs degree gets you a job with more pay at once,the ad is good but not like the bs.For teaching it's the masters degree.

My mother has a BS in nursing and specializes in cardiac care - she makes about 150K a year. But it took her 15 years to get to that point and a near perfect score on her board exam.
