Do you need a nursing degree to work as a nurse in the republic of ireland or will a diploma do? |
if i were to study in eire to get upto degree standard does anyone know how long it would take? full time and part time. has anyone done this who could supply me with the info? thanks. Depends what level you want to work at, a diploma will be enough for a lower level nursing position, for a top nursing position you would need a degree. Basically with a diploma you would be caring for patients, with a degree you'd be more involved in treating them, hopefully that makes sense! You need a degree, with a diploma you could probably work as a nurses aid i was a nurse myself, and i know the standards in irland are very high you might be ok with a diploma there are a lot of foriegn nurses in eire at the moment. at the moment they are laying off nurses by the dozen because of budgeting problems so you probably would not be able to get a job anyway. |
