Associates degree in nursing or BS in accounting?

I have an associates degree obtained outside the us.I will be going full time to school next spring and I am torn between associates in nursing or accounting. with 48 credits that I have been awarded it would take me about 2 years to complete a bs in accounting, it will take me about the same time to complete an associates degree in nursing,I don't have much time, I need to make a decision , gurus weigh in, and thanks in advance for all your input

I know you said you have an associates degree and have been awarded credit but do you have the pre-requisites completed to go into a nursing program? If not, it will take you longer to complete that degree because normally you have to have a&p, psychology, microbiology and college algebra completed before you can even apply to the nursing program. If you do have these completed I would say get a B.S in nursing....I don鈥檛 think you should have to choose between a bachelors and an associates if you can get a bachelors in either field.

Keep in mind that almost every where you go, nursing is a limited access program that you have to apply to get into. Many schools have waiting lists that are a year to two years long and accounting majors do not normally have that problem. On the other hand, nursing is a very rewarding career especially if you become a traveler. Is one of few jobs that no matter where you go, your career will always be in demand.
